Apostille – a higher authentication of documents intended to be used abroad

Official documents may need an apostille certificate attached to them if they are to be used abroad. The apostille is always issued by the relevant authority of the country in which the documents were issued, as only this authority is able to verify that the document in question is valid and to confirm it is not a fake.

I am abroad and need an apostille for my documents

When dealing with authorities abroad, you may be required to present documents with a higher authentication. However, you being abroad may pose a problem. To have your Czech documents legalised, the relevant authorities in the Czech Republic must be attended in person, as diplomatic missions abroad do not provide this kind of authentication. Thanks to the fact that an apostille can be obtained by a person acting on your behalf, we can save your time and costs by having your documents apostilled for you.

If you need a document issued by an authority in the Czech Republic (a copy of your criminal record, a registry certificate or any other certificate and statement) and you are currently abroad, all you have to do is send us a power of attorney with your signature verified by an Embassy of the Czech Republic, and we will take care of the rest. We are happy to send you a power of attorney template upon your request.

We will then send a DHL Express courier to your address to collect the required documents, and the rest is up to us. Which countries recognise the apostille certificate?

Being the simpler way of authenticating documents, the apostille is recognised in countries that have signed the Apostille Convention, also called the Hague Convention. As well as the member states of the European Union, an apostille will also suffice in other European countries, such as Norway, Great Britain, Switzerland, Ukraine and Iceland. Authentication by way of an apostille is also accepted in other countries, such as the USA, Turkey, India, Australia, Mexico and others.

Payments for having your documents apostilled remotely are accepted via bank transfer. The total price, which includes the cost of our legalisation services and delivery fees for sending your documents abroad, is affected by a range of factors, such as the number documents to be legalised and which country the legalised documents will be sent to.
